No Bail GMA!

I am taking part on the call of progressive organizations, led by BAYAN to be vigilant and join protest actions if GMA is released on bail.

We all know that GMA is facing charges of election sabotage in relation to the 2007 election. And we all know that the crime is non-bailable.

GMA doesn’t deserve bail.
No bail for GMA!

I really don’t understand why some politician backs GMA’s bid to bail? If this government will be allowed GMA to post bail, it will be a great disservice to the Filipino people.

If PNoy used all its powers to remove Corona from office, he must do the same to GMA, convict and jail GMA and pursue her other crimes that includes plunder and gross human rights violations.

But it looks like PNoy is so soft on GMA…

  8. Hmmm...so I wonder why PNoy is such a softie for GMA. I agree with Postcard, justice should be the same for all, no preferences.

  10. sa pagkakaalam ko, unti-unti nawawala or umaatras mga witness nila against former President Arroyo. and if their case is weak, there's no way they can deny her to post a bail. after all, she has all the rights to be treated as not guilty unless proven otherwise.

  11. If the case filed against her is not bailable then there should be no bail. No one is above the law, even an ex-president.

  16. Dito lang naman ata moderated ang justice depende sa taong akusado. Wala atang mug shots ng mga Pinoy na artista di ba?

  17. NO BAIL!!! I totally like that!

  18. yup! no bail. sana i-apply kung ano ang dapat.

  19. Parang nakalimutan na si Arroyo because of Corona. Kung may taong dapat makulong it's GMA. She's as guilty as hell. Ayan lumabas na gal it ko kay GMA. hehe Buti na lang wala na siya sa pwesto.

  20. i agree on this one, no bail for GMA...still she'll get special treatment pero at least behind bars and cannot travel...

  21. I also agree! No bail for GMA! It's about time that she faces the consequences of all her wrong doings! Justice for all that she had offended in the past especially the people who were cheated.

  22. They (GMA) should pay their debt to the FIlipino people. Pnoy should always look for that. :-).

  23. I agree No BAIL! Pnoy should take actions for it because he is really soft on this case. It is almost forgotten because of the CJ CORONA impeachment still we need to take part of it! Tara na sa EDSA at maki rally tayo!

  24. This is a serious matter for our country. I'm with you on this one.

  25. I agree. She's obviously guilty. She shouldn't be getting any special treatment just because she's the former president. If ordinary man needs to pay for his crime, all the more should a former politician pay for his crime. With great power comes great responsibility, not great anomaly.

  26. No bail indeed for GMA and she also need not to have special treatments.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i agree with you! GMA, along with her husband, is so guilty they should rot in jail + serve their time for all the crimes they have committed against the Filipino people! + agree with daddy Yashiro, strictly no special treatments!

  28. I don't know that much about politics. Tsk. But in fairness, I think GMA has done more than the current president.

  29. suuuper agree! no bail at all!

@Lizzie. I guess you have to try reading back things that happened during GMA's time... it was like a silent Marcos era all over again...

  30. At the very least, bail should fit the financial profile of the accused. An amount so high as to give even the very rich pause.

  31. NO BAIL for GMA. after all the bad things she has done for our country! she should be in JAIL for all eternity

    ReplyDelete
  32. Do you realize that while she is under hospital arrest or "jail", the government has to shoulder the cost of her food, medicine, security and other miscellaneous things? Those expenses can run up to a small fortune.

Now, for the benefit of those of you who want to become wiser, here are two definitions of "bail":

    1) to grant or obtain the liberty of (a person under arrest) on security given for his or her appearance when required, as in court for trial.

    2) property or money given as surety that a person released from custody will return at an appointed time.

Bail is not freedom. She still has to show up in court at the appointed time when she is called to trial. She cannot travel abroad because of the travel ban order on her. Besides, she is too much of a celebrity to go into hiding. So, what gives with this bail or no bail thing. Justice dictates that the crime accused her is bailable. Then let justice be served. Allow her bail.
