What rate will you give to PNoy?

PNoy experienced a further plunged in his net satisfaction rating, reaching its lowest since he assumed office last two years ago. The latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey that was conducted last May 24-27 showed that PNoy’s satisfaction rating took a 7 per cent drop from 49 per cent last March to 42 per cent last May.

I am not surprised…really!

Is this the third or the fourth dip in rating?
Ha, ha…I can now see a trend, visibly a downward trend…

The SWS noted that PNoy had the biggest dip in satisfaction rating here in Metro Manila. And satisfaction among women, also dropped to a “good” +41 from a “very good” +50.  If  ever there is a chance I will be asked by SWS, definitely I will rate him a dissatisfaction mark.

PNoy can only blame himself for his growing unpopularity, isolation and mounting discontent from the Filipino people. Why? Because he has done nothing since he took office two years ago. And nothing has changed since he took over the gearshift of government from the much-hated Arroyo government. Is PNoy gearing to become one of those hated Presidents?

Hmmm...

For the past two years, he falls short to address the most basic demands and needs of the Filipino people, especially the impoverished masses. Nearly two years in office but the poor even live miserably:
a.    Poverty has worsened to 55% in March from 45% last December 2011. That percentage translates to around 2M families (from 9.1 million to 11.1 million).
b.    Hunger rose to 23.8% of families in the first quarter of 2012. The number of families that experienced involuntary hunger reached 4.8 million in March from December’s 4.5 million (22.5%).
As a patriotic youth, I extremely detest PNoy’s display of extreme puppetry to the US government in allowing it to use the Philippines as a platform for its hegemonist drive in the Asia-Pacific region. Sobra-sobra ang pagpapakatuta sa Kano! PNoy allowed further travesty of our national sovereignty and patrimony by peddling the country’s interests to United States.
a. Providing US warships and submarines with virtual open access to Philippine waters without consideration to the policy of freedom from nuclear weapons as provided for in the 1987 Constitution.
b. Allowing the US armed forces to maintain a military base inside Philippine territory. The headquarters of the 700-strong Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF)-Philippines is an exclusive zone within Camp Navarro, the main camp of the AFP's Western Command, in Zamboanga City.
c. Allowing the US military to direct AFP operations such as the US-guided dropping of a "smart bomb" supplied by the US in Basilan last February against what the US described in the media as "terrorists".
As long as poverty and hunger persist, and PNoy remain to show his blatant puppetry to the US government, PNoy can expect a crash down in his ratings at greater speed. And his government will be rocked of massive protest actions. He must have learned lessons from his predecessors.

How about you, what rate will you give to PNoy?

  1. I can't believe he still got positive ratings. When and where are this surveys taking place? I would like to volunteer to be surveyed to give PNoy some negative ratings he deserve.

  3. I'd like to pass this up. I don't feel like rating his performance, but for sure he's underperforming by miles. The fact that he passed up the RH Bill and separation of the Church and the State, I think he's nothing but a push-over trying to convince the public he's got a stern persona for going after the corrupt. Talk about Noynoying at its best.

  4. I think no one should depend on the government on things such as poverty and hunger. People should do their own part and strive for themselves. Just my two cents.

    2. I couldn't agree more to you Bee!

Anyway, while reading this, why don't we try pointing our fingers in front of us (as if pointing to noynoy and whoever sits as president in the coming years), and then check the other three fingers. Yeah?! That is what we need to ponder on! We are the ones responsible not just the one whoever sits there!

C'mon, aren't we tired yet?! Rating?! Forget it!

    3. I agree with bree, poverty should not be 100% dependent to the government. People should work hard specially in times of crisis like this. Ika nga nasa Diyos ang awa nasa tao ang gawa.

  5. I think more than having a dysfunctional government, we need more of people who make a stand and strive to push for things that benefit the majority. Sad to say that until now, most of us are working for self-preservation... As long as basic needs are not satisfied, who would stand up for the nation? Bad governance and selfish motives are such a terrible combination.

  6. I don't think it's entirely his fault whatever is happening or not happening in our country. Even if we boot him out if the same people stay in the smaller positions or if those people are not effective then we're only skimming at the surface. :/

  7. I'm not surprised too. Not doing anything is the same as doing something bad. I think the RH Bill has a lot to do with this. I remember in the past, he's ok with it until oh so suddenly, hindi na. This is aggravated by him focusing too much on Corona and Jessica Sanchez and not on other more pressing issues like the scarborough shoal standoff.

  8. I think our country would never find a good president anymore. On the other hand, it's also not fair to expect any president to be hundred percent effective. Sa dami ng problema sa Pilipinas, hindi kaya ng kahit sino na solusyunan lahat sa isang termino.

  9. I don't know about politics. Lahat naman ng uupo jan laging may negative and positive. Why can't we just help each other and stop pointing fingers? - naks! Feeling congresswoman lang LOL!

  12. I don't want to judge him because I didn't walk in his shoes. But still, hindi ako nawawalan ng pag-asa na magiging maginhawa ang buhay ng mga Pilipino.

  13. when i first heard the news about pnoy running for president, the filipino people assuringly jumped the bandwagon and voted for him without even analysing the situation. i do still have high hopes that the philippines will rise from poverty but if the filipinos would really, really as in really think and vote wisely. as for pnoy, i don't have any other opinion about him.

  17. An 8. A friend businessman once told my family, "and strikta ni Pnoy.. ang hirap makalusot ngayon sa gobyerno nya." Change is indeed transpiring and we need that to be progressive. :D

  18. I didn't vote for Pnoy because I didn't think he was capable and so far I don't see that he has done anything at all to effect changes in our country. Or maybe , if what Farida says is true, change is happening slowly and we just don't feel it yet.

  19. from 1-10, i'll give him a 6 (still positive)...i want more changes in the govt but let's not really on the gov't all the time, we need to help uplift the status first of our family (which is the basic unit), then our community and then maybe countrywide...if everyone has that thinking we will definitely have results...

  20. It's not surprising that PNoy's rating will dive down more. He ran and won office not because he can do good things to our country. But because he's the son of Ninoy and Cory, nothing more. The Yellow propaganda worked! And people joined in.

  21. This is an old story it happens to all of our presidents.. let's just accept that we will never stop from criticizing anyone who sits in this position, I'm not really a fan of Pnoy (I prefer Binay) but I guess he's better than Arroyo parin..

  22. We really need a visionary as a president. Someone who kahit na unpopular but will lead our nation to greatness! Such a tall order but eto talaga ang kelangan natin. I hope Pnoy can do a miracle. :(
Ikaw talaga, Reese. Pinag-iisip mo tuloy ako tungkol sa politics. I don't think about these things anymore coz it's just the same old, same old. hehe But I admire that you're so well versed with our political situation. How old are you by the way?

  23. Im not a pessimist. In fact i always believe in the positive, but not with Pnoy. Don't get me wrong. As far as I'm concerned, he hasn't affected my life. But yeah, I don't believe in him, and his capabilities for that matter. And besides, our country's reform doesn't solely depend on him; we're all a part of this nation, so,we're all responsible. Too bad for him, the Filipinos elected him as president, so much is expected from him.

  24. I can't really blame PNoy's government for issues in poverty, but I can definitely sympathize with your point # 2 -- PNoy being a puppet of the U.S.

  26. Our country has a long way to go and it would be best not to rely our hopes on one person. Change must come from ourselves. To those people who complain how hard life is, it has always been hard. But the way on how one sees things make it different.

Peque Gallaga once said that the Filipinos worst enemies are themselves. Corruption starts at home. It continues to the classroom , ultimately to the work place. Blinders should be removed once a parent recognizes this as a child's mind is like a clay, ready to absorb anything, wether good or bad.

The road less travelled is not really that inviting . But once you're there, you do not want to take another route.

  27. I hate politics :-( I do not know about the Philippines president and the politics :-( it has been awhile since I am active with politics :-( I hope that he is helping to lift up the Philippines :-)

  28. I don't vote for him, I'm routing for Gordon and I hate the reason why he didn't win even if he is a qualified leader, politics really sucks I hope that this will open the mind of Filipino because the position is not a popularity contest but the ability of the individual

  29. i just don't like him since the beginning. i think the people are being misled and they only see him being good because of his mother.

  30. If I remember right, his campaign before the elections centered on cleaning the government and dealing with corruption. I believe he is doing that now, just as he promised. I'm also not a big fan of Noynoy but I do believe he has a good heart and will do what he can to make sure reforms are set before he steps down from office. Would you rather have a smart but corrupt president?

    ReplyDelete
  31. as long as our country do not progress and the quality of life do not improve, complaints will never stop. Sad thing is people always tend to blame it to the government. as if changes can happen in just 6 years! no, no one will ever be satisfied and that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Being a class president is already a tough job what more if you are the Leader of the whole nation? I don't think there will be a person who will be in that position will be able to change our country and the people for the span of 6 years.
